Thanks, mate :) Not exactly how I thought it would turn out, but it plays well enough, and holds tune, even overnight ( we had -3 last night).

Thanks, mate :) Not exactly how I thought it would turn out, but it plays well enough, and holds tune, even overnight ( we had -3 last night).
I'm back.
Only took me a year to nearly finish it (note wonky string ferrules and unfinished neck), but here it is anyway:

I had to wait for summer...
That's what I used to get it like that, Waz. I'm not game to take any more wood off and I've already applied two coats of linseed oil.
The body got its second coat of sanding sealer. It's a pity I ruined the string through holes as it is looking nice with just the sanding sealer applied:...
...for the damp and cold to bugger off, someone on this forum mentioned "The Stratosphere". Here is the result, in video format: ...

The first attempt at staining the neck, I mixed metho 25ml to 75ml golden teak. The pic doesn't really show how dark it turned out, but I wasn't happy with it....
Carbatec got me, it was just a matter of time:

After doing a test run on my practice...
No, Waz. When I buy from O/S, I like to stock up for the future to save on postage and time, although this mob usually only take a week or so to get here from England.
Four 3 ply pick guards from Vanson Guitars (ebay UK). Now with added GST since 1/7/2018 :(

Ocean Mist
It is mint green but I can't remember if it was pale or not, Waz. I took it off my old sunburst Monterey Tele for test purposes, will probably opt for white or pearl white (subject to change without...
I put it together again, but this time tuned to pitch (top load configuration only, no electronics). I am happy to report everything fine and quite loud acoustically :) I still need to drill holes...

I think this will be OK:

Thanks for that Simon, I will ask the mechanic to do it like that, but haven't seen his press yet
Whilst waiting for second lot of filler to dry, I did a bit of levelling:...
Today I found out that the local mechanic has a drill press, so I decided to fill and drill.
Lucky it's going to be a solid colour:

Thanks for that Mark :) I might get that for this build, and save the single ferrules for something else.
It covers them fine, Mark, I just drilled them badly :p Luckily the bridge plate covers my sloppy work :)
You must mean the modern type bridge. My Wilkinson, Fender MIJ and Squier '62 Custom's...
More bits arrived today, from Ace guitar parts:

Lining up OK,except for the string through holes. Strings do go through, though:...
Conversion bushes are in and all tuners line up :)

Got a little more done today.
My drill press isn't big enough to reach the string through points, so this was my solution:

I am learning, but it is down to you guys :) By the time I am finished this guitar, I should be able to handle any faults a solid body can throw at me, maybe
Nice saw!
I haven't got around to the soft spot yet. I did get a 6 pack of CA glue, though.
Found the chuck key, and enlarged the holes to 6mm.
