Well I think it's finally done!!
After another heap of coats of TO (about 20 in total on the body and 6 on the neck)
After all the coats, I just couldn't warm to the glossy shine on either the...
Well I'm getting fairly excited...
Have had a few nice warm days and I got 3 coats of TO, a light sand and a 4th coat on so far and its coming along really well I think...

Hi Stuzl, yeah I'm hoping that I have gone the right way. I guess time will tell, if I need to move it hopefully I can still cover or disguise any holes made.

Cheers Wok' I think it's mellowed a bit even with the second coat this evening.... Pics can be deceiving depending on light, but these ones from tonight do look a fraction darker and maybe more...

Had a busy couple of weeks l, with only a few opportunities to get any progress, but tonight I ticked off a few milestones...
First coats of Tru Oil went on the body...

I'm an Instrument Tech / Sparky by trade and have done a lot of soldering over the years.....
Cut my teeth with an iron and solder doing heaps of Dick Smith kits as a young...

So a few small updates.....
Ebony grain filler was watered down and rubbed into the body and let dry for 24hrs...
Thankfully the days are getting warmer so it dried quite well..

I found some Goof Off at the local hardware.. the bottle of liquid, not the aerosol.... Hopefully that may get it off...
It was also surprising how much the fine fibres lifted...
