If your output it low you might want to raise your pickups. Here's what Fender recommends... I'd pick what you think the Artecs are closest too and experiment a bit.

Looks great! Glad you got some supportive weather!
I got a great deal on my GFS pickups that were NOS and did not have the quick connects. I don't think the color codes are 100% consistent. There are lots of guides to how they are wired like this...
Welcome to my world ;-) It is never reliably not hot and humid here. I have pretty much decided that I just can't really use spray equipment. It's always hovering around the high end for humidity,...
Interesting to see what you did with the wiring, Weirdbits. I am curious which of the B+N options you use. Are they all useful settings?
I have the "Modern Vintage" version, four conductor, not...
I love my lil'punchers. Good choice! Could you post a link to Weirdbits's diagram?

Changing pot location should would not keep you from having sound, but before connecting it, are you sure the pots are turned all the way up? It's probably a bad ground, but it's a good idea to check...
It looks right in the diagram:
I am assuming your wire colors are the same for both pickups...
For the neck pickup:
black should go to the center terminal, top pot
green and silver should be...
I am not going to argue with Phrozin. He gets results that are way beyond what I can do. Just to clarify a bit, I do use an orbital sander on the top and back of flat guitars. I don't use it on an...
Great! Hopefully they got a lot in. It's been slow on the forum lately ;-)
I am also about to start on a Tele build so will be watching yours with interest ;-)
...that said... it may take forever, but your approach does seem to be working... Anything more agressive increases the risk of sand through. So the equation is partly to figure out the balance of...
You might want to get it flat with a grit that is a little coarser. You are using a very different clear than I do. It looks like it has a fair amount of orange peeling in the pic, but pictures can...
That's interesting. If I take off 1 mm at the first fret I'd be at about the same there, but I'd need to take off about 2.3mm at the 12th to be close to that. Interesting that the tapers are...
That should have been .8" at fret 1 and .85" at 12 for the Warmoth standard neck.
The Highline guitar guy aims for about .85 at the 1st Fret and .95 at the 12th. I may aim that way as well.

Just out to curiosity...how thin did you get this neck? I was thinking about doing it like the Warmoth standards that are .8mm at the 1st fret and .85 at the 12th. Or did you just decide to take it...
Ha! That's about DB. In the early days of this build DB gave some helpful advice...not the least was what to do with the 3 point bridge that came with the kit.
Thank you!
Thanks, TD. It's been a very organic feeling build. In the beginning all I wanted was a bass that I could hear without plugging in, but that I could also plug in. The idea was not much firmer than...
In all that, I forgot to mention, that it lost a little weight. It was 7.6 lbs before. It has dropped to 6.9 lbs (3.1 kg). I think it's mostly (maybe entirely) from the lighter tuners.
It took me two attempts to get here. First was a botched stain, that turned into a botched solid color. That was stripped to start a new attempt. Solid colors are from MTN94 rattle can acrylic spray...
I haven't adjusted the pickup or bridge height for a few days, but I did have enough zoom meetings to polish up the pickup rings and tailpiece trim. Assembled it all yesterday. I think I began work...
Best approach I have found so far. Works best with pots designed for push on knobs. The shaft is narrow under the knurled part which gives the heatshrink something to grab on to. I still managed to...
I am guessing that I don't get my clear as flat as you do, Dikkybee, so I start with a 220 Diablo sanding sheets. I don't recommend this! I do it because my finishes tend to have some brushstrokes....
You don't want an orbital sander anywhere near that IMHO. Something like this is much cheaper and gentler.

It's an electric bass  I successfully installed the wring harness. Everything works. No shorts, and it's relatively quiet. I don't think this is so much because of the humbucking mod. It's...
